WELCOME TO OUR DEPARTMENT
Thank you for visiting the web site of Department of Modeling and Industrial Computing (PPI), Faculty of Computer Science and Information Systems, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. This department was established to provide students with skills and theoretical knowledge of computer science and information technology, and exposing them to manufacturing and industrial applications. Despite computer science courses, students will take courses such as operations research, robotic, simulation and modeling, inventory control and application of graph theory.
The department currently offers undergraduate program (Bachelor of Science) in Industrial Computing and graduate programs at masters and doctorate levels. Our research and academic programs involve collaborations with industries such as Proton, Puspakom and some manufacturing companies. The collaborations provide academic staff and students with practical skills and knowledge to solve real world problems in industrial environment.

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
Department of Modeling and Industrial Computing (PPI) is one of the departments at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Systems. The Department of Modeling and Industrial Computing was established in 1992 parallel with the development and integration of computer science and information technology in operations research and industrial engineering. The establishment of the Department of Modeling and Industrial Computing also described the department mission and vision to produce graduates with high skill in information and communication technology to help the industrial sectors in Malaysia.
